The August Hearts Initiative was created in honor of a shared legacy of service between founder Ramica Chase and her late father, who both share birthdays in the month of August. August represents more than a date—it symbolizes love, generosity, and a lifelong commitment to giving back to the community.
Both Ramica and her father carried a deep passion for serving others, particularly those facing addiction, homelessness, or hardship. The word Hearts reflects the compassion, empathy, and humanity that guided their efforts—meeting people where they are and offering support without judgment.
Through the August Hearts Initiative, A Maze of Dreams extends care beyond its core services by supporting community outreach, providing resources, and offering select free or reduced-cost support to individuals and families in need. This initiative exists to continue a legacy of kindness, ensuring that care, dignity, and compassion reach those who need it most.
